Your reader deserves to know which words and ideas are yours and which came from elsewhere. That is what a citation does: author, title, site, date, and link, in whatever format your subject asks. The format changes between subjects, but the job never does. Any tool or source that shaped your work gets a plain statement. Models are strong language processors. They reword, summarize, outline, and draft at speed. But they also fail in set ways: confident wrong statements, invented facts or sources, and missing what you meant. So the rule is short. The tool drafts and you verify: read every claim, check every fact, and keep only what you will stand behind. **Example.** Write one line at the end of helped work that says what the tool did. A fair line names the tool, the job it did, and your check, such as using it to outline and reword while you checked every fact yourself. Name the parts it touched and the parts fully yours. Who stays answerable for the whole submission. You do, no matter what the tool did. **Tip.** Declare wherever your reader must judge what is yours, especially in assessed coursework, in the form the setting asks. A casual practice chat and a marked essay differ because the marker needs to weigh your own work. When the line feels unclear, declare anyway.
