## Lesson: Capital Letters for Names, Days, and I

Some words always need a capital letter. Use a capital for a person's name, like Sam. Use a capital for a place, like Paris. Use a capital for every day, like Monday. The word 'I' is always a capital too.

*(drawing: Only 'Tuesday' starts with the capital letter it needs.)*

**Example.** Zara writes a diary. She writes: 'I saw Mia on Friday.' I, Mia, and Friday are all capitals.

**Tip.** Ask: is it a name, a day, or 'I'? If yes, use a capital letter.

**Recap.** Names, days, and the word 'I' always start with a capital.
