## Ready when they can

- Give a reason a family might move to a new place (e.g., a new job, to be near grandparents)
- Trace how something reaches them (e.g., 'the banana came on a ship, then a lorry, then to our shop')
- Give an example of an idea travelling (e.g., a recipe, game or song from another country)

## Lesson: How People, Food and Ideas Travel

Sometimes a family moves to a new home. They might get a new job there. They might want to live near grandparents.

*(drawing: The banana travels from farm to ship to lorry to shop.)*

**Example.** Leo's toy was made in a factory far away. It went on a ship, then a lorry. It arrived at his toy shop.

**Tip.** Ideas travel too, without any lorry. A song, game or recipe can cross the world. Letters, phone calls and the internet carry ideas fast.

**Recap.** People, food and ideas all travel, each in their own way.
