## Lesson: Where Ancient Greece and Rome Are

Have you ever looked at a map and wondered who lived there long, long ago? Greece and Italy are countries by a big blue sea called the Mediterranean Sea. Long ago, the Ancient Greeks lived in Greece. The Ancient Romans lived in Italy.

**Example.** Mia looks at a map with her dad. She points to Greece, then to Italy. Dad shows her the blue sea around both countries. That sea is the Mediterranean Sea.

**Tip.** When you look at a map, find the blue water first. Countries next to blue water often sit by a sea. Greece and Italy both sit right by the Mediterranean Sea.
