## Lesson: Boudicca's Revolt Against Rome

Boudicca was the queen of the Iceni, a tribe living in Britain when the Romans ruled the land. When her husband died, the Romans broke their promises. They took the Iceni's land and money, and they hurt Boudicca and her daughters badly.

Boudicca was furious, so she gathered a huge army of Britons who wanted to fight back too. Together, they marched against Roman towns across Britain.

*(drawing: Boudicca's army burned three Roman towns one after another: Colchester, then London, then St Albans.)*

**Example.** Picture a whole town on fire, with people rushing to get away. That is what happened when Boudicca's army swept through Colchester, London, and St Albans, one Roman town after another. The Romans never expected such a fierce attack.

**Tip.** In the end, a Roman army defeated Boudicca's forces in one big battle. But people still tell her story today. Boudicca is remembered as a symbol of resistance, someone who bravely stood up to a powerful empire.

**Recap.** Boudicca was a British queen who led a revolt against Roman rule, burning towns like Colchester, London, and St Albans, and today she is remembered as a symbol of resistance.
