## Ready when they can

- Give an example of a famous entrepreneur who failed before succeeding
- Explain what they would do differently if a business idea didn't work the first time
- Describe why failing and trying again is better than giving up

## Lesson: Try, Learn, Try Again

Almost no business idea works perfectly the first time. Entrepreneurs are people who start businesses, and most of them had an idea that flopped before they found one that worked.

*(drawing: A slow day at your lemonade stand still counts as a step. It teaches you something for next time.)*

**Example.** Thomas Edison wanted to build a light bulb that could glow for a long time. He tested one material after another, and most of them did not work. He kept trying anyway. After thousands of tries, he found one that worked, and the light bulb was born.

If your idea does not work, ask yourself: what went wrong, and what is one thing I could change? Then try again with that new plan.

**Recap.** Failing is part of trying. The real trick is to learn from it and try again.
