## Ready when they can

- Define what a customer is in their own words
- Suggest what a customer might look for when deciding whether to buy something (quality, price, looks nice)
- Explain why it matters to think about what the customer wants, not just what you want to make

## Lesson: Who Is a Customer?

You know a buyer is someone who buys things. A customer is your buyer. If Mia sells cookies, and Sam buys one, Sam is Mia's customer.

**Example.** Leo makes bracelets. Zoe wants one with blue beads. She buys it. Now Zoe is Leo's customer.

*(drawing: Leo makes a bracelet with blue beads. Zoe buys it, and buying it makes Zoe his customer.)*

Customers look at things before they buy. Is it good quality? Is the price fair? Does it look nice? Think about what they want.

You might love purple bracelets best. But customers might want blue ones. Making what customers want helps you sell more.

**Recap.** A customer buys what you make. Think about what they want, not just what you like.
