## Ready when they can

- Order three daily events using 'first', 'next', 'last'
- Use 'yesterday', 'today', 'tomorrow' correctly
- Describe an event as happening in the 'morning' or 'afternoon'

## Lesson: First, Next, and Last

Every day, things happen in an order. Something happens first. Then something happens next. Last of all, something happens at the end.

*(drawing: First you wake up. Next you get dressed. Last you eat breakfast.)*

**Example.** Ben brushes his teeth first. Next, he puts on his shoes. Last, he walks out the door.

**Tip.** Yesterday already happened. Today is right now. Tomorrow has not come yet.

**Tip.** Morning comes first in the day. Afternoon comes next. Evening comes last, before bed.

**Recap.** First, next, and last help you put your day in order.
