Who really decides things, how mistakes get handled, and what counts as urgent. Your first job is detective work. Watch how the trusted people behave and copy that. Ask your buddy or manager what a good first month looks like, then deliver exactly that. Ask early and ask well. Try first on your own, then bring one clear question with the details: what you did, where you are stuck, what you need. Good questions are short and specific. A sharp early question saves everyone a painful late mistake, while late questions look careless because the mistake already happened. **Example.** Corrections are free coaching. Thank them, repeat back what you will change, and do it visibly. No arguing, no apologising in circles. Pick the right person and the right moment, never the busiest expert at the worst time. Thank them after, and pass the favour on to the next newcomer. **Tip.** Trust builds fast from small finishes. Learn names quickly, show up a little early, and finish small tasks fully. People trust finishers. Fit the norms first and earn trust, then suggest changes.
