## Ready when they can

- Spontaneously offer comfort to someone who is visibly upset
- Help another person with a practical task without being asked
- Use kind words to encourage or cheer up someone who is struggling

## Lesson: Being Kind Without Being Asked

Kindness means noticing when someone needs help. You do not wait to be asked. You just help them.

**Example.** Mia sees her friend crying at recess. She sits close and says, 'I am here for you.'

**Example.** Ben drops his crayons on the floor. Zara stops and helps him pick them up.

**Tip.** Kind words help too. Try saying, 'You can do it' or 'I like you.'

*(drawing: Kindness has three moves. Notice someone, help them, and say kind words.)*

**Recap.** Kindness means helping and comforting others, even when nobody asks you to.
