## Ready when they can

- State at least three basic safety rules and explain why each matters
- Name their trusted adults and describe when they should tell them something
- Demonstrate safe behaviour in a familiar everyday situation without being reminded

## Lesson: Staying Safe Every Day

Every day, you make choices that keep you safe. Simple rules help near roads, water, strangers, and screens.

*(drawing: Stop, look, listen, then cross. Do this every time you cross a road.)*

**Example.** Ben is home with his big sister. A stranger knocks and asks to come in. Ben does not open the door. He tells his sister right away.

**Tip.** Trusted adults are people you know well and trust. This can be a parent, teacher, or grandparent. Tell them right away if you feel unsafe, even online.

**Recap.** Know your rules, and tell a trusted adult if unsafe.
