## Lesson: Right and Wrong Choices

Right choices care for people. Gentle hands help others feel safe. Being honest means telling what really happened. It helps people trust your words. Rules about safety and honesty help us care for each other. Do not follow a rule that asks you to hurt someone. Ask a trusted adult about unsafe or unfair rules.

**Example.** Ben breaks a vase at his friend's house by accident. He feels worried. He tells a trusted adult what happened. That is honest, even though it feels hard. The adult can help with the broken vase.

*(drawing: Ben can tell the truth while he still feels worried. He does not have to handle the broken vase alone.)*

Before using someone else's things, ask the owner. Wait for their answer. If they say no, leave the thing alone. Asking first respects their choice. If you borrow something, take care of it and return it.

Fair choices give people a chance to join in or have a share. Two friends who both want one snack can agree to share it equally. Each gets the same amount. Grabbing it leaves the other friend without a share.

If you damage something, tell what really happened. Hiding it or blaming someone else does not help them understand. You can say sorry and ask how to help. The person may still feel upset. They do not have to forgive you right away. If you feel unsafe telling someone, ask another trusted adult for help.

**Recap.** Right choices are honest and fair, even when they feel hard.
