## Ready when they can

- Explain the reason behind at least two rules at home or school
- Follow a rule consistently without needing to be reminded or monitored
- Describe what would happen if nobody followed the rules in a specific context

## Lesson: Why rules and agreements exist

Rules are things a group agrees to follow. They keep people safe. They make things fair. They help everyone work and play well together.

**Example.** At home, you wash your hands before eating. This rule keeps germs away. It keeps you healthy. That is why the rule matters.

*(drawing: At school, we line up so everyone gets a fair turn.)*

Imagine if no one waited their turn. Kids might push to go first. That would not be fair. Someone could get hurt.

**Tip.** Follow rules even when no one is watching. That shows you truly understand the rule. You are not just afraid of getting caught.

**Recap.** Follow rules because you understand them, not just to avoid getting caught.
