## Ready when they can

- Create a simple plan for completing multiple tasks in a sensible order
- Identify their own common distractions and describe strategies to manage them
- Complete a less enjoyable task before a more enjoyable one without constant reminders

## Lesson: Managing your time and attention

Some days you have more than one thing to do: homework, a chore, and maybe a game you want to play. Managing your time means choosing a smart order for your tasks and sticking with it, even when a task isn't very fun.

*(drawing: A smart plan puts the important task first: homework, then chores, then a game as the reward.)*

**Example.** Mia has a worksheet due tomorrow and a show she wants to watch. She finishes the worksheet first, without anyone reminding her. Then she watches her show and doesn't have to think about the worksheet at all.

**Tip.** Notice what usually pulls your attention away, like a buzzing phone or a TV in the next room. Move those things out of sight before you start, so your focus has fewer chances to wander.

**Recap.** Make a simple plan, do the less fun task first, and keep distractions out of sight.
