## Ready when they can

- Name the Sun, Moon, and stars as objects in the sky
- State that the Sun appears during the day and gives us light and heat
- State that stars appear at night and the Moon can sometimes be seen during the day too

## Lesson: The Sun, Moon, and Stars

The sky has the Sun, the Moon, and stars. Each one looks different from the others.

The Sun shines during the day. It gives us light and heat.

*(drawing: Stars are tiny points of light. You can see them at night.)*

**Example.** One night, Mia looked up and saw the Moon and tiny stars. The next morning, the bright Sun woke her up.

**Tip.** The Moon can appear in the day sky too. Look for it near clouds.

**Recap.** The Sun gives day light and heat. Stars twinkle at night, and the Moon can show up in both.
