The lesson
Earth has huge chunks of land called continents, and huge areas of salty water called oceans. There are seven continents and five oceans in all.
Spin a globe slowly and count each land shape you see. When you have counted seven, you have found every continent.
Leo looks at a map with his class. He finds his country and sees it sits inside the shape labeled North America. That tells Leo he lives on the continent of North America.
Seven continents are land, five oceans are water, and you can point to your own continent on any map or globe.
