Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of LightMySky (“we”, “us”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The service

LightMySky is a free tool for learning. It teaches a library of topics in the order they build on each other, and tracks what a learner knows. It is a learning aid, not a replacement for school, and it does not promise a particular result. We provide it as it is, and we may change, add, or remove features over time.

Accounts and learners

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Please give accurate information. An adult who sets up a learner (a parent, guardian, or tutor) is responsible for that learner and their use of the service. You may stop using LightMySky at any time and delete your account.

Using it fairly

Please do not:

• scrape, bulk-download, or copy the lessons or the question bank, whether by hand or by an automated tool;
• access the service by automated means outside the documented API;
• disrupt or overload the service, or try to break its security;
• access an account that is not yours; or
• use LightMySky for anything unlawful or abusive.

Content and ownership

The lessons, questions, and the way the topic graph is presented belong to LightMySky. You may use them for personal learning, but not redistribute, resell, or scrape them. If you create your own content (a “pack”), you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to host and show it as part of the service, you are responsible for what you add, and you confirm you have the right to add it. If you make a pack public, other people may use it within LightMySky.

No warranty

LightMySky is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any specific learning outcome. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.

Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or its users at risk.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province or territory where you live, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
