What a learner can do afterwards

  • Compare two events and say which was quicker/slower
  • Use 'earlier' and 'later' correctly to describe daily events
  • Solve practical problems like 'Who finished first?'

The lesson

Some things happen fast. Some things take longer. Quicker means less time. Slower means more time.

Brushingteeth2Taking abath10
Brushing teeth took 2 minutes. The bath took 10 minutes. The bath was slower.
Try it together

Mia ran to the tree in 3 seconds. Sam ran in 6 seconds. Mia was quicker because she took less time.

Good to know

Earlier means it happened first. Later means it happened after. Breakfast is earlier than dinner.

Quicker and earlier come first. Slower and later come after.
