A coast is the place where land meets the ocean. A sandy coast is also called a beach.
Coasts are not all the same. You can find sandy, rocky, or muddy coasts.
If you visit a sandy beach, soft sand covers the ground. Little crabs dig and hide in the sand.
If you visit a rocky coast, big rocks meet crashing waves. Sea stars cling tightly to the wet rocks.
Muddy coasts feel soft and squishy under your feet. Look for birds poking the mud for food.
Coasts can be sandy, rocky, or muddy, each with its own animals.
