What a learner can do afterwards

The lesson

When your test is done, you are not finished yet. You still need to tell or write what happened. That is called a report, and it lets other people learn from your test too.

Try it together

Sam tested three paper towels. Towel B soaked up the most water, 9 cm, so Sam wrote: 'Towel B absorbed the most water, so it works best for cleaning up a spill. If I tried an even thicker towel, it might soak up even more. Next time, I would drop the water from the same height each time to make the test fairer.'

Good to know

A strong conclusion always points back to your data. Instead of saying 'I liked it best,' say 'It soaked up the most water, so it works best,' and explain why using your numbers.

Use your data to answer the question, predict what might happen next, and think of ways to make the test even better.
