What a learner can do afterwards

The lesson
Composing means building a short piece of music on purpose. You choose the pitch (how high or low a sound is), the rhythm (the pattern of long and short beats), the tempo (how fast or slow it goes), and the dynamics (how loud or soft it gets). Then you decide how to repeat, change, and order your ideas so the whole piece has a shape: a beginning, a middle, and an end.
Zara builds a track in a music app. She loops a low drum pattern again and again under everything, then layers a bright tune on top, and slowly turns up the volume toward the end because that is the exciting part.
A good composer can always say why: why it's slow here, why that pattern repeats, why it gets quiet before the ending. Explaining your choices is part of the job, not an afterthought.
