The lesson
Some small words tell us where a thing is. We call these words prepositions.
The ball sits on the box. Then it rolls off the box. On and off tell us where the ball is.
Mia puts her doll in the box. Next she takes the doll out of the box. In and out show where the doll goes.
Dad says, put the shoes by the door. You listen for the word by. Then you put the shoes there.
Listen for tiny words: on, off, in, out, by, to, from, with. They tell you where something is or goes.
These little words tell us where things are or where they go.
