What a learner can do afterwards

  • Describe at least two ways to keep money safe (purse, wallet, money box, giving to a grown-up)
  • Explain why it matters if you lose money
  • Show that they treat real coins and notes carefully rather than leaving them lying around

The lesson

Money is real. It can buy things you like. If you lose it, it is gone.

Try it together

Ben got two coins from his gran. He put them straight into his money box. Now they are safe.

Tap each dot and count out loud.
Ben's two coins go into his money box. Count them: 1, 2. Safe and sound.
Good to know

Keep money safe. Use a purse, a wallet, or a money box. You can also give it to a grown-up to hold.

If you drop money, it can get lost. Someone else might pick it up. Then you cannot buy what you wanted.

Money has value, so keep it safe and don't lose it.
