The lesson
A nosebleed is when a little blood comes out of your nose. It can look surprising, but most nosebleeds are small and stop soon.
First, stay calm and tell a grown-up. Then sit down and lean your head a little bit forward, not back.
Gently pinch the soft part of your nose, just below the hard bony top. Hold it for a slow count while you breathe through your mouth.
Do not tip your head back. Leaning back can let blood run down your throat, and that can make your tummy feel funny.
Find the soft part of your nose with your fingers now, while it is not bleeding, so you know exactly where to pinch if you ever need to.
For a nosebleed, sit, lean a little forward, and pinch the soft part of your nose.
