What a learner can do afterwards

  • Can explain Sun and heat

The lesson

On hot, sunny days, your body can get too hot and the sun can burn your skin. A few easy habits keep you cool and safe.

Drink water often, even before you feel thirsty. Water helps your body stay cool while you play.

Good to know

When the sun is strong, take breaks in the shade, under a tree or a roof. Shade gives your body a rest from the heat.

Good to know

Wear a hat to shade your face, and ask a grown-up to help you put on sunscreen to protect your skin from sunburn.

Try it together

Before you go out to play on a sunny day, make a quick check: water to drink, a hat, and sunscreen. Say the three out loud.

On hot days, drink water, rest in the shade, and wear a hat and sunscreen.
