The lesson
Look at the corner of a book, a window, or a slice of pizza. That corner is called an angle. An angle is the space between two straight edges that meet at one point.
Ali swings his bedroom door open. The door turns from closed to open. That turn is also an angle, even though there is no shape with straight edges. The angle tells you how far the door has turned.
A tiny turn makes a small angle. A turn all the way around and back to the start is the biggest angle there is. Quarter turn, half turn: they are just different amounts of turning, so they make different sized angles.
An angle is the corner a shape makes, or the amount something has turned: big turns make big angles, small turns make small angles.
