Take measurements with increasing accuracy and precision using a range of scientific equipment, taking repeat readings when appropriate

The lesson
You already know how to measure carefully. Now it is time to measure like a real scientist: pick the right tool for the job, and check your work by measuring more than once.
Ben times how long it takes a toy car to roll down a ramp. He gets 3.2 seconds, 3.1 seconds, and 3.2 seconds. All three are close together, so he trusts his measurement.
If one reading looks very different from the rest, do not just throw it away. Measure again first. If it still does not match, leave it out and note it as anomalous.
Choose precise equipment, take at least three readings, and watch for the one that does not fit the pattern.
