Polar bears stay warm in two special ways. They have thick white fur. Under their skin, they have blubber, a layer of fat.
Seals rest near breathing holes in the ice. A polar bear waits quietly by one hole. When a seal comes up for air, the bear grabs it fast.
Look for a polar bear's black nose. Fur can look white, but skin under it is black.
