Talk about a text everyone in the room has read: bring a reading rather than an opinion, quote to make a point rather than to fill time, and change position out loud when somebody shows you something you missed.
What a learner can do afterwards

Talk about a text the whole room has read, and start from its lines. Open with a reading of one exact passage: quote it or retell it closely, then build your point from those words. Point at pages or line numbers so others can follow you there. Short grounded turns with a passage attached always beat long speeches about the book in general.
Disagree like a steelworker, not a heckler. Before you push back, restate the other reading in its strongest form, so your reply meets what they truly meant. Then argue the Socratic way: ask what evidence would prove the claim wrong, and answer honestly when your own view takes a hit. Questions that test each claim in turn leave the whole room with a sharper reading.
Changing your mind aloud is a skill, not a surrender. Name the exact passage that moved you and say what you hold now that you did not before. Join fast threads the same way: build on the last speaker by naming their idea, then add your passage or your pushback. If a question invites your view, give it, then test it against the hardest lines you can find.
Arrive with a bank of questions that drag people back to pages. Ask which passage surprised them, which choice split the group, and which line they would cut. Rank the bank and open with the divider that splits the room most. Whatever you ask, every question should point at specific lines, and every answer should link back to the question it was given.
Quote the page, steel the rival, and say aloud what turned you.
