Calling for help
Know your emergency number, then say who you are, where you are, and what happened.

The lesson
Sometimes a hurt is too big for the grown-ups nearby, and someone needs to call the emergency helpers on a phone. Every country has its own emergency number. In some places it is 911, in some it is 112, and in some it is 999.
Ask a grown-up at home to help you learn the emergency number where you live. Say it out loud a few times so you remember it.
When someone answers, stay calm and tell them three things: who you are, where you are, and what happened. Your address or the name of your street helps the helpers find you.
Practice with a grown-up. Pretend to call and say your name, then where you are, then what the problem is. Speak slowly and clearly.
Do not hang up until the helper says it is okay. They may ask you more questions or tell you what to do while you wait.
