Count in multiples of 6, 7, 9, 25, and 1000
What a learner can do afterwards
- Recite the multiples of 6 from 0 to at least 72
- Recite the multiples of 7 from 0 to at least 84
- Count in steps of 25 from 0 to 1000 and in steps of 1000 up to 10,000
The lesson
You already know how to skip count: jump the same amount every time. Now you will use that same skill with bigger jumps: 6, 7, 25, and 1000.
Try it together
Mia packs eggs into cartons. Each carton holds 7 eggs. She counts the cartons by 7s: 7, 14, 21, 28.
Good to know
Numbers in steps of 25 always end in 25, 50, 75, or 00. Numbers in steps of 1000 just grow one more thousand each time, like 1000, 2000, 3000.
Skip counting means jumping by the same number every time, whether that jump is 6, 7, 25, or 1000.
