Rote counting to 100
Rote count forwards and backwards from 0 to 100, beginning from 0, 1, or any given number, by ones
What a learner can do afterwards
- Recite the number sequence 1–100 without skipping or repeating
- Count backward from 20 to 0
- Count forward starting from a number other than 1 (e.g. 'start at 23')
The lesson
Numbers have an order. After 1 comes 2. After 2 comes 3. You say each number once, all the way to 100.
Try it together
Priya starts counting at 47. She keeps going: 47, 48, 49, 50, 51. She does not go back to 1.
Good to know
Counting backward means going down. After 10 comes 9, not 11. Try counting back from 20 to 0.
