Designing for the People Who Use It
Bodies vary, and a product sized for an average nobody actually is will fail most people. Measured body data, reach and grip, and the needs of people with limited sight or movement all belong in the brief.

Bodies vary, so an average-sized product fits almost nobody. Designing to the average measurement leaves out most users on both sides. Size from real measured data instead of one imaginary middle.
Put body numbers in the brief. Grip width decides handles, seat height decides chairs, and reach decides buttons and shelves. Two honest measurements beat one average every time.
Design for limited sight or movement from the start. A signal that is only a beep or only a flashing light leaves some users out completely. Offer more than one channel, like a strong vibration plus a raised symbol plus a clear visual signal, so controls also work one-handed or without sight.
Watch real people use your product; do not only ask them. Watching shows habits and workarounds that answers hide. Those details belong in the brief from the very start, since no single guess covers every person.
Measure real bodies, offer many channels, and test with real users.
