Read something longer than a caption: a short book or story written for learners, from start to finish. The skill is holding the thread while some words stay unknown.

1 · Read
Pick a story where you already know most of the words. Then the few new words cannot stop you.
When you meet a word you do not know, keep reading. The sentences around it often tell you what it means.
Mina reads one short book to the end. At each chapter end she retells what happened in two sentences, like replaying a film in her head.
Close the book at each chapter end and say what happened in two sentences. If you cannot, read that part once more.
Choose a book you mostly follow, read past new words, and retell each chapter in two sentences.
