What a learner can do afterwards

  • Count 2, 4, 6, 8 … up to at least 20

  • Count 10, 20, 30 … up to 100

The lesson

Skip counting means jumping by the same number each time. You do not say every number. Counting by 2s means you jump by 2 each time.

Try it together

Hop by 5s: 5, 10, 15, 20.
Good to know

Counting by 10s uses the same idea. Jump by 10 each time: 10, 20, 30. Say each number out loud as you go.

Skip counting always jumps by the same number: 2, 5, or 10.
